Our school is rich in opportunities for student enrichment. Students may participate in various clubs and organizations to explore and grow their special interests, talents, and passions.

  • Culture 4 Caring Club
  • Coding Club - Coding Club meets on Tuesday from 3:30-4:30 in the library. Coding Club is open to students in 3rd-5th Grade. The first 30 minutes of Coding Club, students will  work through the curriculum in Skill Struck to become familiar with the beginning steps of coding. The second half of coding club is used for students to work on Coding projects to share at the Coding Expo in the spring time. During Coding Club, students become innovators and designers as each of their projects are an original piece of work!
  • Name that Book Club : Meets on Mondays in the library from 3:30-4:30. It is an exciting reading club in Klein. Students in grades 3-5 who choose to particpate can begin reading a list of 25 books. These books have been specificallyy chosen by Klein ISD librarians and they reflect a variety of genres and topics-some are classics , some are newly published, and some have even won major children's literacy awards.
  • Destination Imagination - DI is a problem-solving educational organization that strives to promote creativity in young people. It encourages and fosters the development of 21st-century skills including creativity, problem-solving, critical thinking, and collaboration to influence the development of a positive self-image and to prepare students to apply problem-solving skills to life decisions.
At Mittelstädt, try-outs are held at the beginning of the school year for 4th and 5th graders.
  • Basketball Team
  • Patriot Players-

Patriot Players is an instrument group where we play mallet instruments and percussion. It is an auditioned group for 4th and 5th graders that meets before school once a week. This group requires a high level of musicianship- it is fast paced and depends on independent practice. We perform a winter concert and a spring concert. We also compete at the Klein Choral and Orff Festival in the spring. Patriot Players received Best Overall Instrumental Group at the competition in 2024.

  • Patriot Singers-Patriot Singers is our choir at here Mittelstadt. It is open to anyone in grades 3-5 and meets before school once a week. Our music is challenging at first, but we are able to perform difficult music with ease because Patriot Singers work hard every rehearsal. We still have fun despite working hard; Patriot Singers and Players went on a field trip this year to the Houston Symphony. We perform a winter concert and a spring concert as well as compete at the Klein Choral and Orff Festival in the spring.
  • Leadership Academy- Was created with the hope that consistent and positive interactions between school district police officers and students would provide leadership development opportunities and increase critical thinking skills for our students. In partnership with our school counselor and a KleinISD police officer, they meet with 4th grade students and teach meaningful lessons through open converstaion and various activities.
  • 5th Grade Strings - The Klein ISD Fifth Grade Strings Program is a wonderful way for students to learn how to play an instrument and develop music reading skills. Students can choose to play the violin, viola, cello, or bass. Our students meet after school on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
